Bесаuѕе Phukеt wаѕ the source оf vаluаblе tin, in the 17th century the wеѕtеrn роwеrѕ оf Frаnсе, Nеthеrlаndѕ and England competed for thе соntrоl оf the trade of tin frоm Phuket. Thе Frеnсh соntrоllеd thе island fоr ѕоmе timе, but ultimаtеlу wеrе drivеn away bу Thаiѕ. Lаtеr the Burmеѕе tried to соnԛuеr Phuket but wеrе unsuccessful. Tens of thоuѕаndѕ оf people died in Sоuth Eаѕt Aѕiа аnd 5,300 реорlе in Thаilаnd, mоѕtlу fоrеign tоuriѕtѕ. In Phukеt Prоvinсе 250 deaths wеrе reported, but thеrе were mаnу mоrе dеаthѕ (аbоut thousand) оf illegal Burmеѕе wоrkеr who wеrе building a nеw bеасh rеѕоrt in the area of Khао Lak.

What people are saying about Phuket

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Amazing experience – highlight of holiday
Everything about this tour was sensational. The experience involved extra to what we thought and lunch was even included in the morning tour.

The staff were very respectful and caring of the elephants and it is obvious they have a genuine love for the animals. One of the elephants was very playful in the water and splashing everyone. Suggest taking old clothes/swimmers as the water is quite muddy and you do get a little dirty but it is all part of the experience and worth it. We plan to do again when we return. Loved it!

Phuket: Half-Day Ethical Elephant Jungle Sanctuary reviewed by Tania

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Excellent class! Well worth your time and money
This is a great class. Both James and Get are knowledgeable and fun.

You learn how to cook five dishes, but also you learn the technique you can apple to other dishes as well. The setting is pretty amazing as well. I loved every minute of it.

Phuket Thai Cookery School reviewed by Teresa

    ⭐⭐⭐⭐Brilliant hospitality, lunch and refreshments
Booked online and didn’t realise we were given VIP seating with air conditioning which was great as it meant we didn’t have to smell the fumes from the boat,

snorkeling equipment was provided and the guide was friendly and well understood, make sure you bring your own towels. The lunch provided could’ve been a bit more generous as this was shared between quite a few. Overall, a lovely experience.

⭐⭐⭐⭐Get your guide booking and checking in was easy!
Get your guide booking and check-in all went smoothly without any hiccups.

The only way it could’ve been improved would be if you could reserve seats for the bus. Also (and I know this isn’t getting your guide’s fault) the long wait after getting off the bus at 5 am for the 7 am boat was a bit crap.
